We're Building More to Accelerate Your Science

Earlier this summer, we made an announcement about ramping up our investments in the Quartzy platform and outlined some broad focus areas. Now, we want to keep you updated on some specific improvements you can expect to see in the coming months.

Accounting Integrations

Within the next two months, you’ll be able to automate purchase order creation between Quartzy and QuickBooks Online, provide better data in both systems, and reduce human errors. This new integration will allow you to:

  1. Group your requested items into a PO
  2. Fetch classification data without leaving Quartzy
  3. Enter a custom or automated PO number
  4. Sync with the click of a button!

Using a different accounting platformExpect a NetSuite integration in Q4. Integrations with Dynamics, and more are coming in 2021.

Intuitive Search Functionality

You may have already noticed that when you search for an item, the results are much more relevant, making it easier for you to find exactly what you’re looking for. We are working on making your Quartzy search even more intuitive by understanding human errors, such as typos or partially entered text. Within the next few months, if you accidentally search for ‘glovs’ instead of ‘gloves’, Quartzy will intuitively decipher what you intended. You’ll also be able to search for a keyword and view matching results found in Requests, Inventory, and Shop all in one list.

Mobile Experience

To keep the continuity of your workflow intact, we’re investing in a significantly improved mobile experience. Prior to the end of the year, you’ll be able to use built-in barcode scanning technology to request items and update inventory quantities from your mobile device.

Better Communication on Delivery Dates and Shipping

If you buy from Quartzy, you already know about the benefits of our fully integrated experience: Automatically populated confirmation numbers, tracking numbers, and invoices all in one place. You also know the lengths our customer service team will go to in order to make sure you get your supplies when you need them. Well, we think we can do even better and are committed to bringing you more timely and accurate shipping times, fulfillment dates, and overall communications for your Quartzy orders.

2021 and Beyond

As we look further down the road, we want to continue evolving and growing with your lab. This means bringing you greater platform adaptability, such as:

  • Integrations (ELN, robotic automation stations, journal articles)
  • More customizations in Inventory and Requests
  • Public API

Over the years, we’ve received a lot of feedback from our users on features that could increase lab efficiency while adding value to your day-to-day operations. While we wish we could prioritize all of them, we are committed to focusing on functionality that will streamline administrative operations so you can focus more time on research.

We always appreciate your ideas and suggestions, so feel free to reach out!
